Lorina will present a keynote titled 'Reinscribing the image of the Aboriginal Shearer: Using Film to convey the Barker Brothers Story'

Professor Jeffrey Kottler
California State University – Fullerton, California USA

Jeffrey Kottler is the author of more than 75 books including three new ones this year: Qualitative Journeys: Student and Mentor Experiences with Research (with Victor Minichiello), Changing People's Lives While Transforming Your Own, and Learning Group Leadership (with Matt Englar-Carlson). He is Professor of Counseling at California State University, Fullerton and Adjunct Professor at the University of New England. Jeffrey is also Co-founder of the Madhav Ghimire Foundation that provides scholarships for lower caste girls in Nepal who would otherwise be unable to attend school.

Associate Professor Matt Englar-Carlson
California State University – Fullerton, California USA

Matt Englar-Carlson is an Associate Professor of Counseling at the California State University, Fullerton and Adjunct Professor at the University of New England. He co-authored the books In the Room with Men: A Casebook of Therapeutic Change (2006), Counseling Troubled Boys (2008), Learning Group Leadership (with Jeffrey Kottler), and is the co-editor of the upcoming 24-volume book series Theories of Psychotherapy to be published by the American Psychological Association. Matt has worked with boys and adult males in in schools, community settings, work sites, and in university settings.

Professor Kottler and Associate Professor Englar-Carlson will present a key note address titled 'The Power of Stories: Reciprocal Influences between the Researcher and Participant,' then hold a workshop exploring the Narrative Journeys: The Parallel Processes to explore the impact that research using narrative inquiry has on the life of the researcher at the time of the research, as well as long after the research has ended.
