Aims & Themes

This ground-breaking international conference will bring together healthcare practitioners of all persuasions and scientists to learn the recent developments in the evidence supporting the use of complementary medicine. The particular focus will be on herbal and nutritional therapies. All aspects of evidence-based practice such as quality issues, safety, controlled clinical trials and effectiveness in a hospital or clinical setting will be explored at the conference. A sub-theme will be an exploration of the relevant research methodologies and clinical context for complementary medicine.

Key topics will include, but not be limited to:

  • New developments in the clinical evidence supporting key herbal medicines such as Ginkgo, Black Cohosh and Pine Bark
  • Recent advances in the clinical understanding of CoEnzyme Q10, omega-3 oils and probiotics
  • The latest research on novel nutraceuticals for disease mitigation and prevention
  • Advances in the understanding of the role of complementary medicines in facilitating healthy longevity and improving aged care
  • Research developments in the management of challenging clinical conditions including Alzheimer’s disease, ADHD and endocrinological and metabolic disorders, including type 2 diabetes.
